Project Overview
TEMS Solar completed a large-scale domestic solar PV and hybrid battery storage installation for a home in Sevenoaks. The homeowner wanted a system that could maximise solar self-consumption, reduce reliance on grid electricity, and provide substantial energy storage to meet household demand throughout the day and evening.
With multiple roof faces available, the system was carefully designed to optimise generation while maintaining aesthetic balance across the property.
System Design & How It Works
At the heart of the system is the Solis RG1 3P 10K HVES 5G hybrid inverter, which intelligently manages power flows between the PV array, household loads, and battery storage.
The battery system comprises three PureDrive SOL R24 3.84 kWh units, providing a total of 11.52 kWh usable storage. The system operates as follows:
-
Solar energy generated by the 36-panel array is used to power household loads in real time
-
Surplus energy charges the battery units for later use
-
Once the batteries are full, excess solar can be exported to the grid
-
During the evening or periods of low solar generation, stored energy is discharged to supply the home, reducing grid electricity usage
The multi-battery configuration and hybrid inverter work seamlessly together, ensuring efficient charging, controlled discharge, and intelligent energy management across multiple roof arrays.
Installation
The 36 Eurener 400W panels were installed across multiple roof faces to maximise generation while maintaining a clean, balanced appearance. The installation also involved careful cable management, optimised string layouts, and precise positioning of the hybrid inverter and batteries for safety and performance.
All works were carried out by TEMS Solar’s experienced in-house team, ensuring regulatory compliance, high workmanship standards, and minimal disruption to the homeowner.
Performance & Benefits
The completed system provides the homeowner with:
-
High solar generation from a 14.4 kWp array
-
Large-capacity battery storage for evening and overnight use
-
Increased self-consumption of solar energy
-
Reduced reliance on grid electricity and lower energy bills
-
Intelligent, future-proof energy management
-
Reduced household carbon footprint
By integrating multiple batteries and using a hybrid inverter, the system ensures smooth operation even with energy spread across multiple roof faces.
Conclusion
This Sevenoaks installation demonstrates TEMS Solar’s ability to deliver large, multi-roof domestic solar PV systems with advanced hybrid battery storage. By combining high-efficiency Eurener panels, the Solis 10K HVES hybrid inverter, and PureDrive SOL R24 batteries, the homeowner now enjoys a powerful, reliable, and future-ready renewable energy solution.
