Battery Storage: Fox 11.6 kWh High Volt

Project Overview

TEMS Solar completed a high-capacity domestic solar PV and battery storage installation for a home in Heath and Reach, Leighton Buzzard. The homeowner wanted to significantly reduce reliance on grid electricity, maximise the use of on-site solar generation, and install a system capable of supporting higher household energy demand both now and in the future.

Following a detailed site survey and review of energy usage, a tailored solution was designed using Fox’s hybrid inverter and high-voltage battery technology.

System Design & How It Works

At the centre of the system is the Fox 10kW hybrid inverter, which intelligently manages power flow between the solar PV array, household loads, battery storage, and the electricity grid.

The system operates as follows:

  • During daylight hours, electricity generated by the 20-panel solar array is used to power the home in real time

  • Any surplus energy is automatically stored in the 11.6 kWh Fox high-voltage battery

  • Once the battery is fully charged, additional excess energy can be exported to the grid

  • In the evening and during periods of low solar generation, the inverter discharges stored energy from the battery to supply the home, reducing grid imports

The hybrid inverter and high-voltage battery are designed to work seamlessly together, ensuring efficient charging, controlled discharge, and stable system performance throughout the day.

Installation

The 20 Jinko 435W panels were installed in a carefully planned layout to maximise solar generation while maintaining a clean and balanced appearance across the roof. Internally, the hybrid inverter and battery system were positioned to allow safe access, effective ventilation, and a neat overall finish.

All installation works were completed by TEMS Solar’s in-house team, ensuring full compliance with current regulations, safe operation, and high standards of workmanship.

Performance & Benefits

The completed system delivers a range of key benefits for the homeowner:

  • Strong solar generation from an 8.70 kWp PV array

  • High-capacity battery storage for evening and overnight use

  • Increased self-consumption of solar energy

  • Reduced reliance on grid electricity

  • Lower energy bills and improved energy independence

  • Improved resilience against rising energy costs

  • Reduced household carbon emissions

The system has been designed with future flexibility in mind, allowing for potential expansion of battery capacity as energy needs evolve.

Conclusion

This Heath and Reach installation demonstrates how a well-designed solar PV and battery system can deliver reliable performance for domestic properties with higher energy demand. By combining high-output Jinko panels with Fox’s powerful 10kW hybrid inverter and high-voltage battery technology, TEMS Solar provided an efficient, scalable, and future-ready renewable energy solution.
