Project Overview

TEMS Solar delivered a high-performance commercial solar PV and battery storage installation with integrated EV charging for a Surrey-based client. The business wanted a system to maximise self-consumption, reduce electricity costs, support electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and provide flexibility for future energy needs.

Due to extensive building renovations taking place at the site, the installation was carefully scheduled over multiple visits to minimise disruption and ensure seamless integration with the property’s ongoing upgrade works.

System Design & How It Works

Central to the system is the Fox ESS H3 10 kW 3-phase hybrid inverter, which intelligently manages power flow between the solar array, battery storage, EV charging, and business loads. The three-phase system distributes power evenly across the property, supporting higher-demand commercial operations.

The battery configuration includes one 4.14 kWh HV Master unit and two 4.14 kWh HV Slave units, providing total usable storage of 12.42 kWh. The hybrid inverter and batteries work together seamlessly:

  • Solar energy generated by the 32-panel array powers immediate business loads

  • Surplus energy charges the Master and Slave batteries for later use

  • Stored energy is automatically discharged during peak-demand periods to reduce grid consumption

  • The Fox 3-phase EV charger draws solar power when available, optimising EV charging and reducing reliance on the grid

The integrated Fox system ensures intelligent load management, smooth battery operation, and efficient EV charging, all monitored through the Fox platform for full visibility and control.

Installation

The installation was carefully phased to coincide with the client’s renovation schedule:

  1. Phase 1: Solar PV array installation and inverter positioning

  2. Phase 2: Battery storage installation and system commissioning

  3. Phase 3: EV charger installation and final system integration

All cabling, conduits, and safety equipment were installed to commercial-grade standards, ensuring durability, compliance, and a professional finish.
